Cala di Volpe
Tucked within the lobby of the legendary Hotel Cala di Volpe on the Costa Smeralda, the seasonal David Morris boutique – a showcase for fine jewellery – unfolds as both gallery and storybook. Housed in the reimagined Sala Fiori, the 800-square-foot space responds to the hotel’s dreamlike architecture – organic, cinematic, and steeped in myth.
Inspired by imagined figures rising from the bay’s turquoise waters, the boutique weaves these whimsical characters into its fabric. Carved into the cave-like plaster walls and hand-painted across interior surfaces, they watch silently, like ghosts from the sea – at home in this sculptural emporium. Embroidered details on soft bouclé cushions echo the motif with gentle restraint.
The palette is purposefully minimal: white plaster, high-gloss accents and diffused lighting offer a quiet backdrop for David Morris’ jewellery collections. Bespoke furniture by Studio Eivind and vintage pieces are layered into the space, giving it the warmth of a private salon. Original watercolours – commissioned for the brand’s 60th anniversary – nod to David Morris’s tradition of rich storytelling. More than a boutique, the space is a living narrative: a setting where rarity and imagination quietly converge.
