Yayoi Kusama

Creative Concept & Art Direction

Our creative lead, Keith Fowling, worked closely with Louis Vuitton’s Visual Image Studio to define the vision for the brand’s hugely heralded collaboration with Yayoi Kusama. Infusing Kusama’s iconic visual language – from mermeric net paintings to the iconic polka dots – into the brand’s universe, the project transformed retail environments into immersive art experiences.

The concept embraced Kusama’s blend of eccentricity and precision as an artist, reimagining her motifs at monumental scale through sculptural installations and bold display elements that straddled a line between fashion and contemporary art. Every detail was carefully calibrated to honour the integrity of Kusama’s work while reflecting the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship and innovation.

The result was more than a collaboration – it became a global cultural moment, reaffirming Louis Vuitton’s position at the forefront of creative dialogue.
